Post Processing Explained

Every MLS system has their own specific criteria for image uploads. Though much of the criteria is similar, you should check with your local MLS to ensure you are providing proper formatting to upload. Follow the easy steps below to establish a basis for your photography, eliminating any limitations that may cause your images to get removed, or not used at all.

Brightness

  • You will want to increase the brightness of most of your indoor shots, this will provide a lighter scene, more welcoming to viewers. You can increase brightness to your liking, but be sure to not cause any areas of over exposure that could ruin an image.

Contrast

  • Heavy contrast between light and dark areas is disruptive for viewing a home environment. It is best to find a neutral value where the entire scene works together.

Shadows/Highlights

  • Similar to contrast, competing areas of light and dark are not ideal for home photography, everything should be evenly lit and the entire scene should be visible.

Saturation

  • If you are shooting indoor photography, some color results may be dull and not as exciting as they could be. Without over saturating your images, you can give a slight boost (or detract where necessary) to your images to ensure they show to their fullest potential.

Cropping

  • Sometimes your images will contain content you want to remove, whether it's too close to the camera, or just not appropriate for the photo, you can crop your images to fit your specific needs.
